A memorial scholarship has been created to award a student from Clearview Marching Band for the amount of $1,500.00. Valerie was heavily involved with the marching band at Clearview High School. Valerie's Run/Walk for Leaukemia will be contributing $250.00 from proceeds on September 13, 2009 event. Below is information on the scholarship.
Criteria
The Clearview Marching Band student who is awarded this scholarship will have shown evidence of the following:
- A sincere commitment to all band obligations, in and out of season, on and off the field, and through the entire school year (example: Memorial Day Parade, especially during senior year);
- A sincere commitment to being a well-rounded student at Clearview; solid academic performance, healthy and positive social involvement, and commitment to activities additional to the marching band front;
- A sincere commitment to service for others, in the school environment and also in community, religious organizations, social and environmental issues, etc.;
- A sincere commitment on the part of the student’s family to the Clearview Band Auxiliary and its many volunteer activities that support the marching band.
